Panels and Workshops
Welcome to the AAC. So, you want to be an exhibitor at the convention – and now, you’d like to know more.
We all know that it can be tricky to be a vendor/exhibitor at such a niche convention. But, if there’s one thing I can say about this convention is – it’s like no other.
The Akron Authors Convention is different. Not only are we showcasing authors, we’re bringing in publishers and artists for those that want to learn the writing and publishing craft, in all its facets – not to mention panels and workshops to help improve writers’ publishing opportunities.
The Akron Authors Convention is intended for literary fans of all sorts and specializes in promoting aspiring writers and artists in the publishing industry. Vendors, agents, publishers, editors, writers, technologists, and artists all have the option of presenting at workshops or participating in panels with other industry specialists, teaching others about a specialty of their craft like “Creating a Professional Book Cover Using Photoshop” or “Writing a Successful 3 Chapter Hook.” Additionally, exhibitors may participate in panels with other industry specialists, discussing “Potential Hurdles in Modern Publishing” or lit fan topics like “The Best and Worst of the Dreseden Files.” For vendors, there is an additional benefit, a price deduction on table costs.
We all want to know how to become better authors, to learn tips and tricks of the trade, what you need to do to get published with a literary agent and publishing house, or what options are available when you self-publish a book. These panels and workshops will not only help you on your way, but give you insights as to how others might do it. You’re not alone with your curiosities. Those below are examples, but if you would like to select one to lead or participate in, mention it in your application. Otherwise if you would like to propose a panel or workshop, please do so below. We are open to ideas.
If you’re interested in giving a panel or a workshop, please fill out the form below, and we can even knock off some of the price of your booth/table rental.
